"The staff do a good job to support people. They do a lot of work for drug addicts."

NORTHAMPTON JESUS CENTRE
What we're doing

The Jesus Centre is a place for meeting friends, sharing, listening and learning. It's for everyone in Northampton.

It's home for the Jesus Army for public worship on Sundays and other times. But more than that, it offers daily friendship and help to all, whatever their faith or lack of it.

Info Desk

"We're here to help you!"

Trained volunteers will be able to give you information, tell you what's on at the Jesus Centre, or put you in touch with other agencies or specialist groups around the area.

Circle café

The Circle Café is the hub of daily action of the Jesus Centre. It is a place to meet and chat over a leisurely cup of tea, or to enjoy a more substantial meal.

Many activities take place here, and you can find out what you can take part in at the Jesus Centre by chatting to the friendly staff, or browsing through the displays.
    Regular Cafe serving times:
  • Monday - Friday 10am - 3 pm
  • Saturday 10am - 2pm
  • Late opening Wednesday and Friday 7 - 9pm

Listening Ear

Many of our staff are specially-trained "listeners" and will be happy to take time to share the pressures and pains that have become a normal part of life.

Step-Up Scheme

Through the Step-Up Scheme we aim to help people make a change, particularly those who through unfortunate circumstances or bad life choices have fallen on hard times. Apart from meeting basic needs, such as showers, clothes washing, and reasonably-priced hot food, the emphasis will be on constructive relationships and supporting people as they take positive steps to overcome difficult circumstances.

Skills Suite

The Skills Suite is on the second floor, just above the Circle Café, and offers such courses as English with IT, Maths for All, English for Speakers of Othe Languages (ESOL) and Personal Development. These are open to everyone and most are completely free. There is also a full programme of other groups such as Parenting, Evergreen (for the over 60s), Creative Drama, Guitar, and Stress Management.
