One sixth of the UK population has trouble repaying its debt. According to the UK's leading debt charity, Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) people are finding it increasingly difficult to get out of debt.
But nearly half the people coming forward for help wait for a year before facing up to their problems.
